This first edition of Love, Lies, and Laughter, although a slight departure from his usual non-fiction writing, Noel Guthrie has stayed close to the formula that made his Memories Series so successful. This latest work, made up of delightful yarns and watercolour sketches, continues the theme of chatting with the reader in text and in sketch. The key is perhaps his common touch of exploring not only his own memories, but to strike a parallel cord in the memories of others.
If you like a little bit of old fashioned humour, this work is a delightful read, and who knows, it may well rekindle hidden memories.
